Whole Paycheck

The popular name for Whole Foods in the blogsphere… I went today and got lunch there for the first time ever. I’ve been to Whole Foods to grocery shop a million times, and for their salad bar for dinner a few times, but this was the first time I’ve ever gotten lunch from there. There’s not a Whole Foods that convenient to my office, but there’s one thats a 10 minute walk from the hotel (a little over a mile roundtrip). It’s a beautiful day out, so it was really nice to get outside! And the salad bar there is just to die for. I made a monstrocity of a salad:

In the mix:

  • Spinach and Mixed Baby Greens
  • Squash Salad
  • Seaweed salad
  • Superfood salad
  • Wheatberries
  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumbers
  • Tri-Colored Peppers
  • Marinated Tofu

This salad had so much going on and it was wonderful. I always get a little taken aback by salad bars with this much stuff to choose from, so I did a loop first to scope out what they had before starting to compile this massive salad. This was my first time ever having wheatberries and I love them. They have a nutty texture/flavor and made an awesome addition to the salad. I’m going to look for them next time I’m grocery shopping because they’d be great to make a batch of, keep cold, and then just throw them into salads and other random things through the week. I also had a blurry cup of fruit:

It had pineapple, honeydew melon, canteloupe, grapes, and strawberries. And I had this Honest Tea:

Which was Jasmine Green Energy Tea. Really light and refreshing. Hopefully it’ll give me a good pick-me-up because I’m getting tiiired. I still plan on going to the gym after the course is over today, and then I’m heading to a potluck tonight for dinner! I’m making Caitlin’s Sweet Potato Balls as my contribution to the meal.

Hope your day is good. I’ll be back!
