I am beyond honored to have been mentioned on Health.com’s recent article as one of the four inspirational weight loss blogs in today’s article by Tina. If you’ve come here from that article, welcome!
A little bit about me… my name is Beth (if you couldn’t guess from the title of my blog) and I am an almost 27 year old foodie working and living in the Washington, DC area. I originally grew up in Connecticut, but came to DC for undergrad and never left. Somehow that means its been 9 years since I moved here… crazy!
Anyway, I’ve lost almost 90 pounds since my peak weight 6 years ago, using Weight Watchers for the last two years to finally hit my goal weight. I started Beth’s Journey in February 2010 after I’d lost the majority of my weight to document the last leg of my weight loss journey and to share my story with others. Health and fitness became a true passion of mine once I decided to change my life, and I wanted to start doing something every day that makes me happy, so that’s how Beth’s Journey came to be. Please feel free to email me (bethsjourneyblog at gmail dot com), join my facebook group, follow me on twitter (@bethsjourneytt) and come back and check out my site! I update it daily with different recipes, struggles, exercise tips, and general ramblings about my life.
If this is your first time here because you found me through today’s article, please take a look around and I hope you find some great original recipes to try and some motivation! Here are a few great places to look to help you get to know me and navigate around the site:

Hi Beth – I am a relatively new reader – I think I discovered your blog a couple of months ago? I have really been enjoying reading, and it is always nice to run into bloggers who happen to be local as well 🙂 I have not had a chance to browse through your archives so I love how you put a lot of your highlights in one place 🙂

Love it!! Congrats Beth! Well deserved!
congratulations beth!! your blog is one of the best that i have ever read!
Hey Beth, I am one of those new readers this post is directed at! I’m a regular reader of Tina’s blog so I knew the blogs she was recommending had to be great! I just wanted to comment and say that so far I love your blog and it looks like we have a lot in common-I live in the DC area, am doing the WW PointsPlus program, and picked up running within the past year (after a lifetime of HATING it) and am now training for a half marathon. I look forward to continuing to read your blog! 🙂
I was SOOOOO excited for ya’ll when i saw Tina’s tweet last night! I freaked out with excitement 🙂
Thanks for this! I am a new-ish reader, and while my preferred method of getting to know a new blogger is to curl up with my laptop and read their entire blog in one sitting (it is like meeting a new best friend, love it!), sometimes life gets in the way and I have to pace myself. This little BJTT primer is such a big help, I can’t wait to get myself caught up!
Congrats on your many achievements — very insipiring 🙂
I turned 27 on wednesday! So far, its good, I’m sure you’ll like it!
